Clapton Chronicles: The Best of Eric Clapton

出生于1945年3月30日的艾力克莱普顿多采多姿的音乐生涯始自18岁时自组的Roosters，接着加入因培育出Eric Clapton、Jeff Beck、Jimmy Page这三大吉他手而被封为『传奇性的摇滚团体』的Yardbirds；1965年转往蓝调先驱John Mayall的Bluesbreakers乐团，翌年与Jack Bruce、Ginger Baker组成乐坛首支强力摇滚三人团Cream。1968年摇滚乐坛万众瞩目的第一支超级乐团Blind Faith诞生，艾力克莱普顿亦名列阵中，1970年再组Derek & The Dominos，但在这些团体转换期间，艾力克莱普顿也抽空帮约翰蓝侬(John Lennon)、Delanie & Bonnie抬轿伴奏。艾力克莱普顿虽然参加或组成过这幺多的团体，可是乐团寿命都不长，原因多是由于团员间意见不合或因为每位团员都大有来头导致自大的心理，于是艾力克莱普顿萌生单飞发行个人专辑不再组成大堆头乐团的意念。



　1999年，二十一世纪前，艾力克莱普顿将他在华纳唱片时期--收录从1981的《Another Ticket》之后一直到1998的《Pilgrim》为止的精彩作品--集结以精选发行《跨世纪精选》(Clapton Chronicles：The Best Of Eric Clapton)； 包括他最新的两首电影歌曲，分别是《落跑新娘》(Runaway Bride)当中的'Blue Eyes Blue'和布鲁斯威利、蜜雪儿菲佛合演的喜剧新片《KISS情人》(The Story Of Us)主题曲'(I) Get Lost'。
